Hi all - WOW - only three months to go as your DG - and so much more to do!! This month, I continued my Interact Club visits with a combined meeting of the McKinney Boyd HS and McKinney North HS Interact clubs on March 26. It was a great meeting with us discussing their future with Rotary (the rest of their lives!) and the projects that they are doing. I will be visiting the Garland ILT HS Interact Club and the Rowlett HS Interact clubs in April.

Rotary Clubs across our District have been shining this year through the Rotary Rockstar Challenge, showcasing creativity, community connection, and powerful storytelling through their public image efforts. With six levels of challenges, this initiative was designed to help Clubs increase visibility, celebrate impact, and inspire engagement—and it’s been exciting to see the results!
Thank you to the many Rotarian women and clubs across our District who participated in the Women in Rotary in Action campaign throughout the month of March. The campaign invited Rotarian women to share photos proudly wearing their Rotary shirts as a way to celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible women who serve through Rotary.

In February, White Rock Rotary Club stepped up to provide a small grant to the Rotary Club of New Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies in support of their hurricane relief efforts. While recognizing that we were working with limited funds, we decided to contribute anyway because every little bit helps.
We were honored to welcome Hannah Bradford from Streetside Showers to Rotary.
Streetside Showers is doing incredible work to offer hope and restore human dignity to our homeless community by providing access to hot showers and personal hygiene care, something many of us take for granted every day.
We were proud to present a $500 donation to help support their mission and the lives they are changing.
When the sun warmed the playground at Highland Elementary this week, a small crowd gathered around the new red bench in the playground. Melissa Rotary members had arrived with big boxes and tools, laughter and purpose, and coffee and donuts to build another Buddy Bench — a simple seat meant to turn lonely moments into invitations. Teachers, counselors, and the principal applauded when the bench was placed in its new home, then enjoyed the coffee and donuts with Rotary members.

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Heimer from the Rotary Club of Addison. Hi David, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. My parents were missionaries, so I spent quite a bit of my childhood in Africa. That experience caused me to be drawn to organizations that bring people together around something larger than themselves.
