What a fabulous presentation we had from Rachel, a Trafficking Survivor at our October Roundtable. Her comments have motivated clubs to begin thinking about what they will do as a Day of Service. Our November Roundtable will start at 9:00am on November 20 at MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church in Irving. We will conduct 30 minutes of business and then turn the program over to Foundation Chair, PDG Bill Dendy and his team to conduct our annual Foundation and Grant Training which is required to receive a District Grant next year. As always, you may attend in person or through zoom.
Hard to believe we are approaching the Holiday season. With that in mind, instead of our regular time and place for Roundtable in December, we will instead host an informal get together at the Haggard Party Barn in Plano on Thursday evening December 9 at 6pm. Barbeque will be served and the cost for each attendee will be $20.00 to cover the food costs. We will also invite some of the local agencies that work to End Human Trafficking so that you can visit with them and consider a personal contribution/gift.
On Saturday, November 20 at 9:30AM to 12PM, there will be a Foundation & Grant Training Seminar following the November Roundtable at the MacArthur Boulevard Baptist Church, 8001 Mustang Drive, Irving. All Clubs must have at least one attendee to qualify for Grant Certification. Foundation Chairs & Club Presidents are encouraged to attend however open to all Rotarians.

As a field of flags appears this week in Oak Point Park, the Rotary Club of Plano East demonstrates its gratitude for those who have served our nation and communities. Each flag tells the story of heroes whose lives were devoted in service to others, some making the ultimate sacrifice.
A team of Mesquite Rotary members, member friends, and Mesquite ISD volunteers under the leadership of Community Service Director Evelyn Williams and committee chair Leslie Feinglas assisted an elderly Mesquite resident for Addressing Mesquite Day. Since the original day of October 2nd was rained out, the group met and worked on October 5th. The group was successful in completing an extensive yard cleanup.

Rotary Club of Greenville had a social and a basket give away on Oct. 24, 2021 for World Polio Day. This group sold chances for a few nice gift baskets and some coupons and raised nearly $500.00 for Polio.

For World Polio Day the Melissa Rotary Club held their 5th annual Chili Cookoff and Cornhole Tournament to raise funds to fight Polio worldwide. The Club invited the community to support the effort and enjoy a fun time of Chili, Cornhole and general fellowship with neighbors and friends.

At the 15th Annual American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Out of the Darkness (OOTD) Dallas Metro Community Walk at Globe Life Park in Arlington on October 30, 2021, Team Mariotek Rotary eClub for Suicide Prevention and Brain Health was recognized as a sponsor and one of the top fundraiser teams on the AFSP website, during the main stage program, on the “Jumbotron” and on the back of all the event t-shirts for the 2,158 registered participants and 231 teams.
