What a GREAT Month we kicked off for membership! Our Membership Seminar, led by our District membership Chair Ean Sullivan and District Trainer, Katherine Stover, was so well attended. The enthusiasm on this topic was exciting- we went over our time limit and still had to cut off questions and suggestions. People brought new ideas- Jon Cocks proposed an at-large membership (Like a passport member) who belongs to one club but visits others frequently. Karen Maxwell talked about Mommy satellites- mothers who have dropped off their kids at school and have nothing else to do but good works in the community!

Working together with TAMUC’s Planetarium, we’ve set a date for World Polio Day, October 24th, and we’re inviting our community to come out and join us. Each ticket is a suggested donation of $10 for adults or $8 for children under 12. NTGD is a massive regional campaign to raise funds for hundreds of local non-profits, and for the last several years, RYLA 5810 has participated. Please bookmark this page, or keep an eye out on your social media to join in on the efforts. Additionally, if your club is interested in partnering with RYLA 5810 to do a special fundraiser to support our year-round effort to train young leaders in our district, please contact Lauren Marold at laurenmarold@gmail.com.
Thanks to all of the Rotary District 5810 club Presidents that are stepping up to help with our Youth Protection program this year. For years we have all been saying “There are NO Rotary Police” and to this day we do NOT have any. But with today's society, all of us need to be working to make sure that we do all we can to protect our youth in Rotary now and in the future. As our district YPO I have sent each and every club president and or the club YPO many forms to help you safeguard the youth that your club comes into contact with now and in the future. Not all clubs need or will use all of the forms and that is all up to you and your club.
