As our 100 degree temps finally fade away and Autumn becomes a welcome reality, We think of things to come. First on my list is that October is Polio Eradication Month. This is the time when clubs celebrate the enjoyment of a Pint or a Pinot, or something else, to help fight the curse of Polio.

Take Action on World Polio Day - Oct. 24
Every year, Rotary members around the world mobilize for World Polio Day. We raise awareness of polio and gather support for our global effort to make sure that every child is protected from it. By staying tenacious, hopeful, and committed, we will make history by making polio the second human disease ever to be eradicated.

Packing Gifts for Mexico
In celebration of International Literacy Day (September 8th), District 5810 hosted a Packing Party. 30 Rotarians stayed an hour after the September 9th Roundtable to pack 380 individual bags of school supplies (each contains a book, pencil pouch, colored pencils/markers, crayons, glue sticks, pencils, pens, stickers and 2 small toys) and 12 boxes of general school supplies for a total of 32 boxes weighing 853.7 pounds including 751 books.

Greenville Daybreak Participates In Greenville Service Club Week
Greenville Daybreak Rotary worked with the Golden K Kiwanis and the Greenville Lions club to celebrate Community Week. On Saturday, September 9th, they built 17 modules of various sizes and cut over 250 2X4 stanchions that will be used to build 2 ramps next week during an initial effort to establish a Service Club week for 5 of 7 service clubs in Greenville.
Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (N3) Service Project
Prosper Rotary Club  put together 200 bags of snacks and treats for the client kids of its club supported non-profit Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (N3). It was a fun hands-on experience where everyone in attendance was able to contribute something of value for N3. Member, Harlan delivered the 200 bags to N3 Friday.
 
Plano Flags of Honor 2023: Honoring Heroes, Celebrating Service
Save the date of  Nov. 4-11 for the Plano Flags of Honor at the Red Tail Pavilion, Plano presented by Plano East Rotary in collaboration with the City of Plano! A field of over 1,000 3′ x 5′ American Flags will express our gratitude to our veterans and first responders.

The Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club teamed up with the South Grand Prairie High School Interact Club to "Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful" as part of the City of Grand Prairie's Clean Prairie Fall Sweep.

Coppell Rotary, known as the "Fun Club" decided to spice up our usual Thursday night meetings, and boy, did we have a blast! After our meeting we enjoyed a classy evening filled with Vino and Quesadillas at Landon Winery in The Sound.
