DG Mike Callahan's July Message
Hello to my fellow District 5810 Rotarians. I am writing this shortly after returning from Taipei, where we wrapped up an amazing week at the Rotary International Convention with 37,000 Rotarians from around the world. As my wife, Jill, said, “Taiwan was not on my bucket list, but I’m glad we made it here.” Even with two sixteen-hour flights, it was well worth the trip.

Rotary Club of Frisco Dedicates Second Peace Pole

The Rotary Club of Frisco, in partnership with Play Frisco – Parks & Recreation, celebrated the dedication of a new Peace Pole at Frisco Commons Park, reinforcing Rotary's commitment to building peace both locally and around the world.

The newly installed Peace Pole bears the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in four of the most commonly spoken languages in Frisco—English, Spanish, Telugu, and Korean—reflecting the city's diverse community and the universal desire for peace.

5810 District Grant Supports Education in Panama
 
Plano Metro Rotary members went to Panama to purchase equipment for the Digital Interactive Classrooms project. District 5810 provided a matching grant that will contribute to 20 fixed and 10 mobile classrooms including digital white boards, laptops, learning furniture, software, reliable connectivity and teacher learning to support education for future productive jobs.

Trash No Match for Grand Prairie Metro Rotary
Members of the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club were out early to beat the heat for their quarterly Adopt-a Street project in June. The club removed 13 bags of trash and other bits of road debris.
Giving Back to the Celina School District
At a recent Preston Trail Rotary Club meeting, we were honored to present Andrea Mersiovsky, Executive Director of the Celina Education Foundation, with a $5,000 check to support the Teachers Grants for Great Ideas program.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club Invests in the Community with Year-End Giving

The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch closed out the Rotary year by celebrating one of Rotary's greatest traditions—giving back to the community. During the club's end-of-year ceremony, members presented a total of $9,000 in donations to five local nonprofit organizations whose work is making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Royse City Rotary Celebrates the Impact of RYLA

Investing in young leaders is one of Rotary's greatest opportunities to shape the future, and the Royse City Rotary Club is proud to be part of that mission.

This year, the club sponsored six local students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), an immersive leadership development camp that empowers high school students through teamwork, communication, service, and personal growth.
