Greetings to all Rotarians as we begin another calendar year together! The holidays have been a time to charge our batteries with family and friends, giving and receiving and simply being more than doing.

The RYLA Information Roundup/Kick-Off for the District 5810 Camp RYLA Program will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Dallas College/Brookhaven Campus. Located at 3939 Valley View Ln, Farmers Branch, TX 75244.
The Preston Hollow Club recently adopted a new group in Dallas. The Club raised funds to purchase 12 apartment-sized Christmas trees, tree ornaments, tree toppers, and window lights for the mothers and children of Exodus Ministries, a women's residential program in East Dallas for recently-released felons and their children.
The Rotary Club of Duncanville did something awesome in November – they took on two month-long service projects! During their four regular club meetings, Rotarians donated cereal, peanut butter, jelly, gravy, and chili to the Duncanville Outreach Ministry.
Rob Wythe and Sharon Scott, present and past Community Service Chairs of the McKinney Rotary Club, hold some of the 206 new stuffed animals that the Club donated to the non-profit Adam’s Animals.
Led by District 5810 (North Texas), the 10 Lone Star P.E.T.S. Districts including 25 Rotary, Rotaract and Interact clubs in Texas and Oklahoma, spent the fall of 2023 raising funds and collecting 460 boxes of donations containing 26,383 books, 404 Days for Girls feminine hygiene kits, 1,361 boxes of crayons, 1,027 pairs of scissors, assorted other school supplies, 284 pairs of tennis shoes and sandals, 143 backpacks, recreational equipment, and medical supplies based on a needs assessment performed by receiving District 4195 in Yucatan, Mexico.
In the heart of Plano, Texas, the Rotary Clubs have once again orchestrated a holiday spectacle that has left the community beaming with joy. The annual Rotary Clubs of Plano Holiday Parade has become a symbol of community unity, festive cheer, and the spirit of giving.
As a continued celebration of Christmas, Allen Rotary Clubs joined hands to conduct a Christmas Parade on Dec 3 at 2 PM. There were more than 50 floats from local organizations showing Christmas spirit
Allen Sunrise Rotary Club members and friends generously devoted their time to organizing donated materials and assisting ACO members in optimizing their resale shop inventory. The dedicated volunteers worked in two shifts, from 9-11 AM and 11 AM-1 PM on October 28th.
The Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy (PTTA) was chartered in November 2023 and sponsored by Prestonwood Rotary. Led by Prestonwood's newest member and Interact Sponsor, Margaret Silva, they were on the road for the Holidays in the Richardson Christmas parade.
In conjunction with North Texas wheelchair ramps, the Rotary club of Grand Prairie continued its long time practice of building wheelchair ramps for disabled citizens in Grand Prairie. Several Rotarians, including, Dennis King, Mark Ford, Aaron King, Martin Caballero, Carolyn Wicker, and others helped build two wheelchair ramps last Saturday.
On Dec. 2, Plano West Rotary Club supported the city of Plano’s annual holiday festival Dickens for the second year. Volunteers set up a craft station where festival attendees could make their own free festive sweater ornament to take home.
Members of Prestonwood and one very exceptional spouse poured on the Holiday Spirit on the last day of November at Feed My Starving Children. Our team build 22 boxes or 4,752 meals for families in need.
Each month with a 5th Wednesday the Richardson East Rotary Club works on a volunteer activity during lunch. On the 5th Wednesday in November we had the opportunity to create care baskets for seniors at the Network of Community Ministries. Food items as well as personal care items were packaged into baskets for needing seniors.
North Texas Pioneers Rotary Club’s December service product was a Christmas party for the members of the Park of Plano Nursing Home. Our members each chose one or two members of the nursing home to give gifts.
The Rotary Club of Melissa once again sponsored a successful Carter Blood Care of Texas blood drive on December 9th. The Melissa Rotary Club Service Committee supports the publicity and arranges the location (the Melissa United Methodist Church) in their bi-monthly campaign for 2023-2024, working with Carter BloodCare to collect much needed blood for Texans who need it.
Members of White Roak Rotary, Dallas celebrated the holiday season by attending their annual Christmas dinner at Table 13 restaurant. Our Fireside Chat events are usually great fun, and our Christmas dinners are no exception.
The Suicide Prevention and Brain Health (SPBH) Rotary eClub (spbhrotary.org) in conjunction with SPBH members from the Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic at Metrocare, Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) and StopOne have announced 2024 dates for ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) in Addison, Texas at no cost to attendees.
