From November 9 - November 17 at Oak Point Park, the Plano East Rotary Club will hold the third annual Plano Flags of Honor program at Oak Point Park.  For seven days 1,000 3’ x 5’ American flags fly in honor of those who have served and continue to serve today.

By honoring them through this display, we are creating a visual expression of our gratitude to those who serve, present and past, living and deceased, while raising funds to address the ongoing needs of this group.

Each Flag Tells A Story

Each flag tells the story of heroes whose lives are devoted in service to their fellow man, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice.   There are stories from the Civil war to present; stories such as 5 high school buddies from the same school who were killed when their B17 was shot down over Europe.  They enlisted together and died together defending our way of life.

Events

Special events will be held each evening on Saturday thru Monday to recognize Veterans, First Responders and supporting officials. Daily events throughout the seven days include programs from Veterans Organizations, School Field Trips, Patriotic re-enactments, First-Responder equipment displays and more.  (see attached draft schedule)  Lowering of the colors and Taps occurs each day at dusk.
