In accordance with Rotary District 5810’s Manual of Procedure, the District Nominating Committee is pleased to invite any Club in the District to submit its suggestion for District Governor for the Rotary Year 2017 – 2018 to the District’s Nominating Committee.

Nomination s must be submitted by midnight of September 15, 2014.
 
The Nominating Committee will meet for the selection process on September 20, 2014.
 
 
Completed suggestions including the properly executed club resolution, the nomination form, and the candidate’s photo. These items must be e-mailed to the District Parliamentarian at JEJrotary@managementplus.net so that it arrives by Midnight on September 15, 2014. A suggestion submitted using regular mail will be accepted at “Governor Nominations, P.O.Box 796126, Dallas, Texas 75379-6126” provided they are in the mailbox by 5:00PM on September 15, 2014. Hand delivered submissions will be accepted if arrangements are made for delivery before 7:00PM on September 15, 2014.
 
The relevant Sections of the District MOP are quoted below:
 
20.10 Announcement by District Governor. The District Governor shall issue, or cause to be issued in the name of the nominating committee, an announcement inviting any club which desires to do so to submit its suggestion for nomination for District Governor-Nominee-Designate for consideration by the nominating committee. In order to receive consideration, such suggestion must reach the nominating committee on or before a date to be determined and announced by the District Governor. Such announcement by the District Governor shall be made to the clubs in the district at least two months before the date and include the address to which suggestions shall be sent. The suggestions shall be submitted in the form of a resolution adopted at a regular meeting of the club naming the suggested candidate, properly certified by the club secretary. In the event of any club desiring to suggest a candidate for District Governor - Nominee Designate and he/she not being a member of such club, concurrence of the club of which the candidate is a member shall be first obtained. Such concurrence will be stipulated by the club making the nomination.
 
20.20 Nomination Forms. Suggestions of Rotarians to be considered by the nominating committee shall be only on the current forms provided by Rotary International. Such forms shall be accompanied by a photograph of the Rotarian proposed..

As referenced in the initial call - the following items are specifically required when submitting a Rotarian for consideration as District Governor for 2017 - 2018 
 
1.   A resolution passed at a regular meeting of the Club approving the submittal of the Candidate and signed and attested to by the Club Secretary. A Regular meeting of the Club is not a Board Meeting but the regular weekly meeting of the Club.
 
2. The completed RI District Governor Nominee Form - both pages. Note that the section titled Certificate of Nomination on page 2 will be left blank for this submittal.
 
3. The photo should be a standard business photo of the individual. Either Black and White or Color is acceptable.
 
4. The call states that the initial meeting of the Nominating Committee will be on September 20, 2014. An individual submitted for consideration, must be available for an in person interview on that day. Time and place will be made available in due course. Interviews will commence approximately 9:00 AM and the location will be reasonably centrally located in the District.
 
The following is not a requirement in the District MOP:
 
It is strongly suggested that the candidate include a Rotary Centric biography of no more than two pages. It should include the candidate's e-mail address, telephone number, mailing address, vocational information, Rotary Classification, length of service to Rotary, and a recapitulation of their Rotary Life including positions held at the Club, District, Zone, or International level as well as their Rotary activities and awards.
 
The documents must be submitted as a package. Confirmation of receipt and the completeness of the submitted documents will be sent to the nominee's e-mail address within 36 hours of receipt. Refer to the "Call" document for acceptable means of submission.
