Last Thursday, Plano Rotary Club recognized members Peggy Fenwick, Nancy Humphrey and Mary Jo Dean for their outstanding leadership and volunteerism.  March 8 is International Women's Day  and this was an excellent opportunity to feature some of the things they do that no everyone sees.
Peggy has taken on the role of Membership Chair and has done an excellent job of streamlining the new member process. We are in the process of getting everything documented. One of our guests sent her a note on how much he appreciated her follow-up and the way she communicated with him. He stated no other clubs had done that.  Way to go, Peggy!

Nancy Humphrey is well known for all she does for Plano ISD. She has proven her leadership with the school district continually for many years.  She has also won awards from Texas PTA and many other organizations.  But did you know, whenever I get stuck and need an idea, a speaker, a venue, someone to help with the newsletter in Dr. Parr's absence, or co-chairing our upcoming candidate forums, she is always there.  She has become a rock star!

Mary Jo was the first female president for Plano Rotary Club. She has been named Citizen of the Year, Corporate Citizen of the Year, Plano Chamber's Athena Award, Plano Chamber Chairman of the board and many other accolades.  There is no way to know how many hours of volunteerism Mary Jo has served. But it is Mary Jo's expertise that I appreciate.  She encourages others to do better by asking tough questions. She is a major influencer for our club and for anyone whose life she touches.
