On Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the former East Middle School campus, 601 E. Belt Line Rd., in DeSoto.
The Rotary Club of DeSoto participated in the open house with DeSoto ISD in opening the Parent Resource Center in partnership with local 501c3 organization, Serving with a Purpose (S.W.A.P.), designed to assist families with practical as well as educational needs. As needs prior to and created by COVID-19 have grown, so has the Parent Resource Center. Over the past several months club members have been actively stocking the resource room with new and slightly used luggage for foster care and homeless children and families to use as they move from place to place. The families are provided with Hygiene Kits. On Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:00 am the Rotary Club of DeSoto was acknowledged by the City of DeSoto for donating funds for the musical equipment included recently renovated Ernie Roberts Park. The Park was upgraded as an inclusive playground with disabled children in mind. The Rotary Club of DeSoto was excited to be part of the effort and selecting the Rhapsody Kettle Drum for children to enjoy for years to come.
