Happy New Year!  I hope your holiday season was fulfilling and joyful.

It is hard to believe that we are already at the halfway point in the Rotary Year.  For me and I am sure for many of you, it has flown by.   I encourage you to stop and take stock of what you and your club has accomplished measured against the clubs’ goals and update them as needed.
At my visits to your clubs one of the things I emphasized was the importance of taking care of our members by creating a friendly environment.  Show members they are valued and that we care about them.  Reach out to those who are unwell or are in need a “friendly touch”.  Get them involved in something meaningful.  Have interesting meetings and line hands on up projects that make a difference in your community.  Recognize members for their accomplishments and say, "Thank you”!

Another way to do this is through having a vocational service activity.  January is Vocational Service Month in the RI calendar.  Encourage members to do business with club members and other Rotarians around the district.  Note the next Rotary Means Business get together at 12 Cuts Brazilian Steakhouse, 18010 Dallas Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75287 on February 28th, 5:00-7:30.  Plan on going.

Remember that there is a new district dues structure that went into effect on December 1st with the approval of the new Manual of Procedure.  Rotary Clubs will be billed ½ year’s dues ($17.00) for each new member added between July 1st and December 31st 2022.

As you may know, Lone Star PETS is coming up February 23-26.  President Elects and Presidents Nominees, please register and make hotel reservations this week.  The registration cost and hotel group rate prices will be going up.  Also hotel room availability will be decreasing.  Here is the link. https://www.lonestarpets.org  Note that there are many very good and useful free courses on Thursday that would be of real benefit to your club and members, in addition to the PEs & PNs.  Check them out on the Lone Star PETS website.

I look forward to seeing you at Roundtable on Saturday, January 14th.
