November is Rotary International Foundation month, and it is a great time for you to check in to your Rotary donations account to see where you stand in contributions to the Foundation.    It is also a good time for you to do your tax planning for charitable gifts for the end of the year.

Also, if you are close to reaching Major Donor status, which is cumulative gifts of over $10,000, this is a great year to reach that goal as we will have a special Major Donor Appreciation Dinner in February—details to be announced by the end of the year.

We are so grateful for several new Paul Harris Society members.  These are Rotarians who commit to give $1,000 per year to the Foundation.  These ongoing reoccurring gifts that lead to becoming a Major Donor and meet the needs of the Foundation.  Our Foundation is recognized as one of the best foundations in the world by Charity Navigator.  It is a blessing to humanity and should be a favorite charity to non-Rotarians and something that we as Rotarians are proud to support.

As announced previously at the October Roundtable, the overhauled 5810 MOP is for clarity, to conform defined terms, to resolve ambiguities, to address practical problems in the workings of the MOP, particularly in the area of the nomination of the successor District Governors, and generally to align the MOP with the manner in which the District actually works and to be in line with the RI governing documents.  We will vote on the proposed amendments at the November District Roundtable, which was noticed to the Clubs as a Special District Business Meeting.  All club presidents are encouraged to attend to discuss and vote on the amendments, and all district Rotarians are invited as well to discuss and vote on the amendments as provided in our existing current MOP.

Please review the proposed MOP that was sent to the club presidents and is on the District website.  Please review this document and attend Roundtable on November 12th for the vote to adopt this new document.
