Hi all - it's been an interesting month. Besides dealing with the crazy weather, I've had a lot of fun attending events and making some club visits. The Mckinney Sunrise Club invited me to attend a Naming Dedication Ceremony at Collin College McKinney Campus. The College named the Student Center after the club! The Club proudly committed $100,000 to an endowment with the Collin College Foundation.
They have supported education in the community for many years, raising funds through their robust flag program. Congratulations to McKinney Sunrise for this phenomenal recognition!
Did you know we have some famous Rotarians in our District? Recently, Ross Rolirad, our District Polio Plus Chair (Fairview Club) along with Harsha Madhani (Allen Club) and Brian McPherson (Fairview Club) participated in a podcast with Angela Edgecombe of Culinary & Health Chronicles. Ross shared the latest on the Rotary fight to eradicate Polio and Harsha and Brian recounted their experiences as Polio survivors. The podcast is on the District website under the Foundation tab. By the way, Angela is a new member of the Grand Prairie Club.

February is a busy month for our District! Our Foundation Gala is on February 12 - hope to see you there! There will be a silent auction as well as some special live auction items. Our guest speaker, Greg Podd, will update us about The Rotary Foundation, its success and share some examples of how it has made an impact in the world. If you can't attend this event, please consider a donation to the Foundation. After all, The Time Is Now!
We also have another informative Club Leadership Exchange on February 14 - the topic is "Service Above Self - Making a Global Impact Together". PDG Regina Edwards and our International Service Chair,Jerrica Anderson will present ideas on easy ways to get involved in International Service and showcase four clubs that have great projects. More FREE club support and breakfast too!
Month eight of my year of service as your DG looks to be pretty impactful and fun! The focus is on raising funds for The Rotary Foundation and bringing more ideas to the clubs. What will YOU do to create Rotary impact this month?
