One month in and we are off to a terrific start!  On July 12 our district had a new club chartered, the Suicide Prevention and Brain Health club with 49 members of which 47 are new Rotarians.  How exciting!
Thanks to President Shirley Weddle and her team for all the terrific work to make this happen.  This is a virtual club that meets every other Monday evening via zoom.  Consider zooming in and joining them sometime.

I have had the pleasure of visiting 37 clubs to date and have heard amazing stories of all the great work they do.  For instance, the Cedar Hill club has only about 15 members but conducts a bike ride fundraiser that nets $21,000!.  Besides raising funds, this is a great opportunity for promoting our Public Image and can be used for attracting new members.

The Frisco Sunrise club has a project in the elementary schools called the Cardboard Challenge.  What a great way to attract future Rotarians!

Have you read the latest Rotary magazine?  Our own district club, Plano West, is featured in an article about the tripling of their membership by involving the entire  community in service projects.  Congratulations to Alex Johnson on this great achievement.

Finally, August 5 is the date for our District Awards for the prior year.  Please join PDG John Moser in recognizing the clubs and individuals that did such an outstanding job last year during unprecedented challenges during Covid restrictions.  Looking forward to seeing you that evening at  6:30PM for the District Awards Celebration Event at the Edison Event Center, 1724 Cockrell Ave. Dallas, Texas, 75215.
