We had a very successful gathering of approximately 35 attendees representing over 20 clubs in our district.  We had a couple of clubs that do not currently have flag programs, but attended as they consider adding a flag program. Betsy Ross Flag Girl, a flag supplier to several of our clubs, sponsored the refreshments and came offering a 25% discount on flag orders.
We also had a club attending from Northlake – Mandeville Louisiana.  He had heard about our summit and wanted to come to get more information on what we do and our success stories.

We had three clubs make presentations about their flag programs.  Gary Pieperburg and John Adams from Rockwall Breakfast Rotary, Paul Lonquist from Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary, and Steve Preston from Coppell Rotary.  Each shared some basic information like when you started, your current flag count, how many holidays, what has worked and what has not worked along with other comments. This was the spark that started our conversations and dialog.

Our conversations and dialog focused on marketing materials like mailers, business cards, Facebook, and websites. We continued talking about canvasing for new subscribers, and how we are dealing with increase cost of our flag components as well as other success stories.

Our goal for those attending was to leave with some new ideas and ways to improve their respective flag programs.  The feedback was good and I think we accomplished our goal.
