Suicide Prevention and Brain Health Rotary eClub members from Texas, Colorado and Ohio supported efforts of EndCAN to End Child Abuse and Neglect at recent Walks in Dallas, Denver and Columbus (https://endcan.org/walktogether/ ).
An additional member will be participating at a Walk in North Carolina. Victims of child abuse are at higher risk of suicide. Child abuse and neglect, like suicide, is not limited by geography. Co-Founder Lori Poland shares her story of abduction as a 3-year old, her subsequent experiences, feelings and interactions as she grows and steps out to expand awareness and ways to help others in her recently released book "I Live Here." Lori and Dwight Clasby, our member and EndCAN Development Director presented at our eClub meeting in May of this year.
Donations are still being accepted at the EndCAN website listed above. You are invited to join us in our SPBH Rotary eClub meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7pm CST via Zoom to learn more about this important topic and other risk factors of suicide as well as how we can each and collectively advance prevention efforts, support victims/survivors and promote mental wellness and self-care.
Please email us at spbhrotary@gmail.com to receive the meeting link or visit our Facebook page using www.spbhrotary.org. Our website is currently under construction, but will be available soon.
