District 5810 And The Rotary Foundation "Future Vision Pilot District Plan"
Congratulations to our Rotary districts in the future Zones 21b and 27 who were selected to participate in the Future Vision Pilot for the next three years. The four districts are-5420 - Utah; 5440 -Wyoming; 5670 - Northern Colorado and Northwest Kansas; and, 5890 - Texas (Houston metro). We should also note that D6200 (Louisiana), moving east in the Zone re-alignment, was also selected :). Only 100 districts, from the 277 which applied, were selected. We noted a number of instances in which the district from a developing country was selected and its traditional US partner was not selected...for whatever reasons (maybe did not apply). The selection of districts was made by RI staff and the Trustee chairman according to preset criteria. Neither the Trustees nor the Directors were involved in the selection process. Now that the selected Districts have accepted this Pilot role or not, the rest of the District around the world will be regularly updated on what evolves as the new Future Vision Plan for The Rotary Foundation.
