Jim has been a Rotarian since the mid-80s. He was asked by his boss, the President of East Dallas to help with publishing a newsletter for the club. Jim was happy to help, little knowing that his boss had in mind for Jim to become a member. Well pretty soon after that Jim was inducted into Rotary. East Dallas was his first Club. Jim was so good as publishing the newsletter that soon he was helping to trained others clubs on how to do newsletter at district assembly.  Jim has also helped with a projects in Gusto la Garda Mexico. Jim has Perfect attendance for over 10 years using makeup meetings when he could not attend the regular club meetings.

Jim recommends attending International Conventions to gain experience as a Rotarian. He has attended two international conventions, one in Portland Oregon and a second in Nice France. While in France some Rotarian friends invited Jim and his wife to join them at lake Lugano, Switzerland. They happily said yes and enjoyed the great fellowship. Jim is a Charter member of Melissa Rotary Club chartered in 2010.

Melissa Club member Bill England, stated that Jim has is a very important part of Rotary and also of this Club for many years. Bill was introduced to him in his first session in 2012 as the expert on anything Rotary and that opinion has not changed over the years. If any question has come up as to why or how Rotary does or doesn't act a certain way, Jim can tell the Club exactly the way the leadership will react.
