The Mesquite Rotary Club donated $1,275 to benefit the Mesquite Community Band at their meeting on Tuesday, March 13th.  As he presented the check, club president Michael Hooker noted that the funds were going to be used to purchase updated, replacement percussion instruments for the band’s use.

In accepting the check, Mesquite Community Band president of the board Lori O’Day thanked the club for its support, and noted that the new instruments would be heard by audiences in their upcoming concert at the Mesquite Arts Center on April 16th, and in all of their subsequent concerts.  This would include their popular Music in the Park series on the lawn of the Mesquite Arts Center each Monday evening in June.
