Mesquite Rotary vice-president John McClellan presented donations of $2,000 to assist the Scouts BSA Circle Ten Council in funding local scouting programs, and of $1,000 to assist the North Mesquite High School baseball program at the club’s meeting on April 4th.
Receiving the checks were Rising Sun District senior executive Ophelia Phillips, and North Mesquite teacher Kim Matchniff and North Mesquite baseball coach Jared Randolph.

The funds donated by the Rotary club will go directly to support the needs of each organization.  For the Scouts BSA, the funds will underwrite supervisory personnel support and other membership related costs for the area’s scout troops, to enable a greater number of local students to participate in scouting, and to reap its benefits.
