Thank you to all who participated in anyway in making our Mardi Gras PolioPlus fundraiser a terrific event.  Our party was an amazing success! We had 218 Rotarians and guests registered.  On the night of the event we received $9,240 in contributions.  When added to amounts sent directly to The Rotary Foundation for PolioPlus, a total of $54,860 has been contributed by District 5810 this Rotary year!
But the year is not over.  If you have not already done so, please send your contribution to The Rotary Foundation for PolioPlus. Now that we have covered the financial results, let's talk about the FUN results.

Representatives Leon McCowan & DeSoto Mayor Curtistine McCowan from the Krewe of DeSoto were named Queen & King of the event.  The per capita contributed from their club was $ 223.68.  Runners up were Fair Park, Prestonwood and Irving Las Colinas Rotary Clubs in that order. Meanwhile, we had a tie for Best costume! Once again, Krewe of DeSoto brought it.  They were represented by PDG Bill Dendy and his wife Katrin Schatz.

Tied with them was the Krewe of North Texas Pioneers represented by King and Queen candidates Diana and David Torres and accompanied by their Royal Jesters Ed Rys and Don Mellor.
