Plano Metro Rotary Club (PMRC) members welcomed Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere as their first virtual speaker, on May 13, 2020. PMRC had been meeting remotely for weeks, but with live meetings cancelled, the club has not had a speaker scheduled since early March.
Mayor LaRosiliere accepted an invitation to speak at the club virtually, via a Zoom call, to give an update about Plano’s COVID-19 response.
Mayor LaRosiliere provided an overview of the current situation in Plano and answered questions from club members. LaRosiliere is an active member of PMRC, but due to his mayoral duties, he is not always able to attend club meetings. Club members appreciated the city update, and the chance to participate in a live Q&A session with the Mayor. Due to the meeting’s success and increased participation and interest, PMRC expects to host more virtual speakers in the future.
