A key component of our 2017-2018 Social Media and Public Image initiative at Rotary Club of Park Cities was to significantly upgrade our audio and video recording capabilities. Completion of this significant project allows us to now live stream our weekly programs and special events to our club Facebook page.

●     Cisco predicts that 85% of all internet traffic will be video related by 2019.

●     A New York Magazine/Livestream survey reports that:

○     78% of online audiences are already watching video on Facebook Live.

○     90% think video quality is the most important aspect of Facebook Live videos.

Our club has realized that embracing the technology and effort to achieve weekly live streaming capability will significantly increase engagement of our current membership, attract more young professionals to our club, and raise awareness of the good work Rotarians do in our communities exponentially.

A recent program featuring holocaust survivor Max Glauben has reached 1412 people with 720 viewers and has resulted in 120 post engagements and 165 post clicks so far. We have seen the additional traffic to our Facebook page increase the number of followers and engagement with other posts as well.

Our Public Image team’s mission is to consistently deliver branded print and digital content to the public on the “story” of who Rotary is as an organization, the good humanitarian work we do, the fun that we have, and the diversity of people who join Rotary. The purpose is “brand awareness for membership attraction”.

Public Image is a focus RCPC’s overall communications strategy directed by the Marketing and Communications Committee in support of the brand guidelines for our club and comprised of key tactics like live streaming, recorded video, and social media.

The Rotary Club of Park Cities has made great strides in the past Rotary year to elevate our Public Image efforts as part of a continuing marketing and communications strategic initiative. This approach is recognized as standard practice in the corporate arena, and is proven to drive more engagement with existing supporters, or members, and new targeted audiences.

Our goal is to consistently raise the standard by which individual clubs can support their districts and Rotary International in spreading the values of Service Above Self throughout our communities.
