From the time a man or woman enlists in the military, through their days as a veteran, the heavy loads they carry – from the travel costs to spend time with family, to accessing to high quality medical care, to jobs that allow them to best use the skills developed during service when they return to civilian life - should be a shared responsibly of all Americans.  That’s why a group of Rotary Club of Dallas members decided 14 years ago to do something to support these men and women and thus, Salute to America’s Veterans was born.
Held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field, this annual event has two missions: to honor the contributions of our veterans across the generations and to raise funds to support our active military and veterans.

Since its inaugural year, the event has raised over a half million dollars for organizations that support veterans and active military members This year, two outstanding organizations, the USO DFW and the George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative, will be the recipients of the funds.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Colonel Miguel Howe, USA, Ret. He is the inaugural April and Jay Graham Fellow of the Military Service Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute. As an endowed Fellow, Colonel Howe represents the Bush Institute's work to improve the transition of post-9/11 veterans to civilian life, and to foster veteran leadership to enhance our businesses, communities and nation. In this role, he advocates for post 9-11 veterans and builds awareness for the issues that affect their transitions, with a focus on employment, education, and health and wellbeing.
