Once upon a time...
Our local service leaders – Rotary Club of Wylie East Fork, Wylie Evening Lions Club, and Nu Gamma chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International - joined efforts to restock Little Free Libraries around town. Little Free Library is an international initiative to make books freely accessible in each community.
Starting in September while celebrating Rotary Literacy Month, each entity collected new and lovingly used children, teen, and adult books. With more books than anyone was willing to count, members from each entity participated in a meet-n-mingle, learning more about the projects and goals of each club. From there, the partiers set out to refill Little Free Libraries in the shared service area and took inventory of possible repairs to be done.

The three civic clubs have plans for a collaborative build and repair effort scheduled this spring. We expect this build will offer our members a chance to make new friends and test out a skill. Already we know we will provide new Little Free Library at the Wylie and Sachse city libraries.

With a heart toward building community and inspiring readers, all three civic-minded entities put their respective missions in action. This collaborative effort is expected to have a storybook ending. The End.
